The Colline del Cigarello e Canossa Dairy of DalterFood Group Wins the Prestigious “Casello d’Oro” Award

The Colline del Cigarello e Canossa Dairy of DalterFood Group has received the prestigious “Casello d’Oro” award, presented by the Parmigiano Reggiano Consortium during the third edition of the Awards, held in the splendid setting of the Real Casino in Madrid.
This recognition celebrates the excellence of the consortium dairies that stand out for the quality of their production and highlights the winners of the Parmigiano Reggiano Palii, annual competitions held in the PDO’s production area to promote expertise, local identity, and authenticity.
In 2025, the Colline del Cigarello e Canossa Dairy won first place at the “Palio la Culla” in Ghiardo di Bibbiano, impressing the APR (Parmigiano Reggiano Tasters’ Association) tasting panel with its 24‑month Parmigiano Reggiano. This achievement paved the way for its selection for the Awards and ultimately for winning the Casello d’Oro.
The Meaning of the Award for the Group
Commenting on the award, Andrea Guidi, General Manager of DalterFood Group, stated:
“We are extremely proud of the ‘Casello d’Oro’ award received by our Colline del Cigarello e Canossa dairy. This recognition motivates us to continue enhancing a supply chain that puts quality, people, and our territory at its core. It also celebrates teamwork and the passion of our cheesemakers who, every day, with dedication and artisanal mastery, carry forward a tradition with deep historical roots.”
The award represents another important milestone in the Group’s growth path, as it continues to stand out as a promoter of Italian dairy culture worldwide. DalterFood Group remains firmly committed to quality, sustainability, and the enhancement of the supply chain, with the goal of offering outstanding Parmigiano Reggiano.
A Mountain Dairy at the Heart of the Supply Chain
Nestled in the landscape of the Reggio Emilia Apennines and located at around 600 meters above sea level, the Colline del Cigarello e Canossa Dairy is recognized as a “mountain dairy” and represents the core of the Group’s Parmigiano Reggiano production.
Here, 870 quintals of milk from local farmers are processed every day, yielding approximately 172 wheels of Parmigiano Reggiano.
Production includes maturations ranging from 12 to over 40 months and features several product types:
- Conventional Parmigiano Reggiano
- Organic Parmigiano Reggiano
- Parmigiano Reggiano “Mountain Product”
- Parmigiano Reggiano only from Italian Pezzata Rossa cows – certified both organic and “Mountain Product”.
